FAQs
When are you opening?
Allium Hill House is launching overnight stays starting August 1st 2024 through December 31, 2024. We will open 2025 dates later this year. Join our mailing list to get priority access to dates as soon as we open them up.
How many people can the house accommodate?
The house can sleep up to 10 people with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths. For the 2024 season, there are three king suites with en suite bathrooms, one queen with its own bathroom across the hall and one bedroom with two twin beds and its own bathroom across the hall.
Is Allium Hill a bed & breakfast?
Allium Hill House is a short term vacation rental available for full house rentals only at this time. But given that it is personally hosted and located on a vineyard, it does give off modern bed & breakfast vibes. We are not currently offering breakfast (although we’ve been known to share treats with our guests from time to time). Our amenities and offerings will continue to evolve over time.
What do you mean by farm stay?
Allium Hill is an immersive stay on a 10-acre agricultural estate and vineyard. We are a working vineyard with daily activity and the hosts are on the property daily. There is natural separation between the house and the vineyard and activity in the vineyard is not visible from the house. You are welcome to explore and engage with the 10-acre property as much or as little as you like.
The house is newly renovated with luxury finishes and modern amenities, high-speed Wifi and central heat and AC. We are in a rural setting and you can expect to encounter many things that are found in nature such as uneven ground, plants, insects and animals. Parts of the property are undeveloped and natural, so if you walk the property, wear closed-toed shoes, look out for poison ivy and check for ticks.
Will I have exclusive access to the property?
We are a working vineyard with daily activity, multiple buildings and the hosts are at the property daily. You have exclusive access to the house, deck, yard and surrounding area at the top of the drive. Trees create natural separation and privacy between the house and the rest of the property and activity in the vineyard is not visible from the house.
There is no garage access for guests.
Is food included?
Food is not included in your stay, however we offer add-on amenities such as private chef services based on availability. Our amenities and offerings will continue to evolve over time.
Can I book an individual suite?
No, the house is only available as a whole house rental.
Is the house family friendly?
As parents ourselves, we would not recommend staying here with children ages 1-5. We want you to enjoy your stay and there are simply too many things to watch out for around the property such as gravel, uneven ground, steep hills, farm machinery, potentially poisonous vegetation etc. Even for adults, we recommend sturdy, closed toed shoes and exercising caution when exploring the natural areas of the property.
The house was really designed for groups of adult friends to enjoy.
Where are you located?
Allium Hill is nestled in the countryside of Leelanau County surrounded by farms and vineyards. We are an easy 15 minute drive from downtown Traverse City and a 15 minute drive to Suttons Bay. We are located a half-block from the Leelanau TART trail that connects to many miles of paved trails for running, biking, walking or cross country skiing. We are one mile from Farm Club, along the same trail or a quick drive. We are fortunate to have Lakeview Hill Farm as our neighbor, and you can walk to the red schoolhouse farm market on the corner for coffee and pastries in the morning and all your fresh veggies needs. We are perfectly positioned as a jumping off point for Leelanau County wine tasting or fall color tours. Our favorite Lake Michigan beach, within Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, is a 25 minute drive and there are West Bay beaches within 10 minutes.
